Research Participant Privacy Consent

Subject to your acceptance of our Research Participant Terms of Service (“Terms”) or an invitation submitted via Prolific (www.prolific.com), User Interviews, (www.userinterviews.com) or another research participant recruitment platform (as applicable) (“Invitation”), you (an individual of legal age, as per the laws of your respective jurisdiction, who has been approved by us to participate in the Research) may be invited to take part in content and user experience research, surveys, interviews, studies, or similar activities (“Research”).

The Research is conducted by Sensemitter Services Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, Company Number HE 440372, with its registered address at Spyrou Araouzou & Koumandarias, FAYSA HOUSE, 2nd floor, 3036 Limassol, Cyprus ("Researcher," “we,” "us").

By agreeing to participate in our Research you provide your informed consent to us, as the Controller, to process your Personal Data under the terms outlined below.

Scope of Consent

  • Creation and Use of Recordings: Videos and audios of your participation in Research, including your image, likeliness, voice, tone of voice may be created as a part of your participation in Research, and may be stored and and used by Researcher as specified in this document.
  • Use of Anonymized Data: Anonymized videos and audios of your participation in Research may be used for the Researcher’s AI-tool training, enrichment, and enhancement.
  • Processing of Personal Data: Your Personal Data will be processed as specified in this document subject to our Privacy Policy.

Purposes of Personal Data Processing

Your Personal Data may be processed for the following purposes:

  1. Service Provision: Delivering services to the Researcher’s customers who commissioned the Research, until the services are fully rendered.
  2. Researcher’s Development: Enhancing, developing, and improving the Researcher’s AI tools, technical systems, and software for a period of one (1) year following the conclusion of the Research.
  3. Contract Execution: Performing and fulfilling the Terms or other contract or arrangement with you until its termination.
  4. Legitimate Interests: Protecting the Researcher’s legitimate rights and interests, including enforcing its rights under the Agreement, for as long as necessary for this purpose.
  5. Legal Compliance: Complying with legal obligations under applicable laws, for the required retention period.

A transcript of your interview, with all identifying information removed, will be retained for one (1) month following the Research Date.

Data Storage and Security

Your Personal Data will be securely processed and stored on the Researcher’s equipment and servers located exclusively within the European Union (EU), in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Data Transfers Outside the EU

  • Standard Contractual Clauses: If applicable, your Personal Data may be transferred to third countries under “standard contractual clauses” approved by the European Commission, ensuring compliance with EU data protection standards. For further details, please contact the Researcher using the information provided in this document.
  • Adequacy Decisions: Transfers to countries recognized by the European Commission as providing equivalent data protection standards are conducted in accordance with adequacy decisions. A list of such countries is available on the European Commission's website.

Composition of Personal Data

The Personal Data subject to this Consent may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name, surname, and patronymic or middle name (if applicable).
  • Gender and age.
  • Registration and residence information (if applicable).
  • Details of identity documents (if applicable).
  • Information about marital status, family members, hobbies, profession, work duties, habits, personal preferences, and experiences with games, content, products, or services.
  • Photos, images, and video recordings.
  • Voice and tone of voice.
  • Facial features and emotional (including biological) reactions to Research content.
  • Contact information, such as phone number and email address.

Any reports generated from the Research will anonymize your identity by altering your name and disguising details that could reveal your identity or that of individuals you reference. Biometric data, if collected, will be anonymized within one (1) month of the Research Date.

Personal Data Processing Actions

The Researcher may perform the following actions with your Personal Data: collection, recording, systematization, accumulation, storage, clarification (updating, modification), extraction, use, analysis, verification, anonymization, blocking, deletion, and destruction. Processing may involve automated and non-automated methods, including the use of software, hardware, local area networks, and databases operated by the Researcher.

You may contact the Researcher at any time for clarification or further information regarding this Consent and your Personal Data. By commencing your participation in the Research, you confirm that you have provided this Consent freely, voluntarily, and in your own interest.
